In 2004, the Good Samaritan House was built in Wexford, PA to provide quality, end-of-life care in a convenient inpatient facility. We are located minutes from I-79, conveniently accessible to Allegheny, Beaver, and Butler counties.

While many of our patients receive care from their home or hospital room, many spend their final days at our 5,200 square foot house, situated on 1.9 acres of wooded landscape. The emphasis at this breathtaking, six-bedroom facility is personal dignity and positive quality of life. All of the large in-patient suites are individually decorated.

Featuring a large kitchen area, private dining room, gorgeous family room, and chapel, Good Samaritan House is equipped with all the furnishings of home to make your loved one as comfortable as possible. Our private serenity garden areas also provide wonderful views.

The Good Samaritan House is staffed 7 days a week, 24 hours a day by a team of nurses, aides, and specially trained hospice volunteers. Clergy members requested by a resident are always welcome and spiritual support of all denominations is available through our chaplain.

In an attempt to complete the continuum of care at the Concordia at Cabot location, a 10-bedroom, 6,500 square foot Good Samaritan Hospice wing was added onto the Lund Care Center. Each room is uniquely decorated and furnished with a bed, recliner, dresser, armoire, television, DVD player, and clock radio. Additionally, two patient suites provide an adjoining room to accommodate overnight guests.

Volunteers are always welcome at the Hospice Unit and the Hospice House. All Good Samaritan Hospice Volunteers must complete a volunteer application form, per the Hospice Medicare Regulations. Good Samaritan Hospice volunteers receive training from the Good Samaritan staff. The amount of training depends upon the area of volunteer interest. Volunteers choose the amount of time they wish to volunteer as well as the geographical areas in which they wish to serve.
